Community Involvement/Volunteer Service

 

· Veteran Service Organization(s) Volunteer: Held numerous positions and volunteered to assist Veterans throughout Northeast Tennessee. 2016-Present

 

· General Volunteer: Visit with elderly, sick, physically and mentally disabled people individually and with groups in Veterans hospitals as well as retirement, nursing and assisted living homes as well as children’s hospitals, worked food-drives and various fundraisers. Various times between 2002-Present

 

· Political Volunteer: Sullivan County Republican Party: Headquarters Volunteer 2016, Sullivan County Republican Party: Election Day Precinct Chairman 2016, Presidential Inaugural Committee: General Volunteer 2017, Sullivan County Republican Party: Delegate Reorganization Convention 2017 & 2019, Sullivan County Republican Party: Briefly Served as: Reagan Day Dinner Co-Chair 2017, White House: Staff Associate/Advance Associate (President and Vice President) 2018-Present 

 

· Charity Fundraising: Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) representative. Various times between 1997-2016 

 

· Invited Speaker: Invited speaker at various Middle and High Schools, to include my alma-matter. Spoke on a variety of topics, especially the importance of education, staying off drugs, community involvement and public service. Various times between 2010-2012 & 2019

 

· Visited Wounded Warriors (Washington, DC): Visited with wounded Warriors at Walter Reed. Various times between 2002-2009

 

· White House Spring and Fall Garden Tours & annual Easter Egg Roll: Assisted attendee’s in-process as well as answered questions and guiding them throughout the White House grounds. 2003-2009

 

· Rolling Thunder Memorial Day Rally (Washington, DC): Invited speaker, spoke of the importance of service, sacrifice, remembrance and the POW/MIA cause on the National Mall during Memorial Day weekend also appearing on C-SPAN. 2008-10

 

· Rolling Thunder Wounded Warrior Dinners (National Republican Club of Capitol Hill, Washington, DC): Visited with wounded Warriors, spoke with them and listened to their issues, assisted in escorting those with mobility issues from the bus to the dining room and assisted with seating, additionally I would bring various types of gifts. 2008-10  

 

· Kup’s Purple Heart Cruise (Chicago, Illinois): Assisted during fundraising dinner and provided Purple Hearts to be presented to Veterans during the cruise. 2006

 

· Harlem High School, GA Junior Reserve Officer Training Course (JROTC): Volunteered to grade the Harlem High School JROTC “Bulldog” Battalion invitational drill meet. 2005

 

· American Cancer Society: Volunteered for the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life”. 2004

 

· Bloomingdale Optimist Club (Kingsport, TN): Basketball referee for youth basketball. 1992-96

 

· Bloomingdale Ruritan’s Babe Ruth League (Kingsport, TN): Umpired youth league baseball. 1992
